Google translate or some other service

Post by zonemikel » Mon Jun 20, 2016 1:08 pm

I know the people in sb is normally pretty diverse. It would be awesome and groudbreaking if we provided a service to shove the text through google translate and return it in the language of the receiver ? Is this possible ? I might be able to help if the interface were well defined.

It would seem like text is text, the translations might be not so great but it is better than nothing. This would really help to break down the barriers and build more community between asian and english speaking.

FFXI and FFXIV both have an option to begin typing and hit a key to begin to cycle through potential responses/names/quests/events/etc which would automatically translate to whatever language that the user has installed.

I doubt it would be a thing for SB, but was definitely the most helpful chat feature in any game I have come across.
