Re: Populaiton has been fantastic, but a newbie nation is ne

One way that we helped new players many years ago is that we owned Wrath Trainers. It was one if those early training towns and we (I mostly because I had the patience for it) let them join the trainer guild and learn how to play shadowbane with us. That way no one really wanted to bane Wrath Traine...

I was hoping no one from here would see that book and get their hopes up. I work at wizards and did the marketing for the book and was fooled by the name as well.

Re: Anyone from Dread sever?

I had forgotten about that part, but yes, L7F did not accept anyone but Humans, Aelfborn and Half Giants. There were tons of half giant barbarians in the guild. Man, I loved the game when I first started playing it, it blew me away to go into a such a cool world from not playing any video games at a...

Re: Anyone from Dread sever?

I was in TBW on dread, can't remember if it was main or sub, but it was south of the swamps at Vessets Fens (Left peninsula on tyrranth major). I almost wanna say Shadow Sub... but not for sure. Was so long ago. Was under a different name then... which I also don't remember, but I was an IC. One of...

Re: Anyone from Dread sever?

Legion 7 Felix, reporting for duty! :) it has been a long time but I remember both the GM helped siege on TBW and was literally fighting on the ground when Pain for Hire back stabbed us in the middle of the Bane. Such a priceless moment. I had a ton of fun on Dread.

Re: Darkfall Unholy Wars

Also, if it is better than the steaming pile that Darkfall 1 was. To be fair, I only tried DF for a short amount of time before I threw my hands up in the air in disgust. Maybe, if I gave it a chance it would have grown on me.

Darkfall Unholy Wars

Apparently, they are releasing a new version of Darkfall with classes and third person this time. Can anyone give us a review of the game with a SBer's perspective?

Thanks.

Re: Excel sheet with pre- & suffixed sorted by racial smiths

Green / White is a Selesnya deck. Not bad, I play an Azorius deck for internal testing and league. Azorius is blue/white and about as a super annoying deck as they get; all counters and detainment (the Azorius special power that basically "locks" up cards for one full turn as if they aren't there. W...

Re: Excel sheet with pre- & suffixed sorted by racial smiths

That seems right because I know we had all 24 dex jewels for those elven rangers. I got every damn vendor for that town and we did have an elf and vampire sage, so maybe we resourced it on the elf. I have no idea how you guys can remember all the small details of this game, it is amazing that it has...

Re: Excel sheet with pre- & suffixed sorted by racial smiths

You know it has been such a long time since I can remember this stuff but we played an elf charter on lore and we made a group of elf rangers, all in vorg and glass bows. We tried for the highest def possible and I am almost positive we wore 24 dex jewels. I got all those vendors and we had a vampir...

Re: Class/Race Combinations you'd like to see

I would love to play on a server that let you make any race, any class. I don't know whether or not it would be way out of balance but I don't actually care either. I can't imagine how much time I would spend playing barbie. I could even play a priest that I wouldn't have to stun immune by making a ...

Yes we are a bit guilty of pumping out tons of cards but making planeswalkers is really fun. Each set usually gets one or two but some are super weak and disappear. Jace is my favorite (and most people's.). Feel free to always post or send me a pm about your thoughts about dnd and magic. I always ap...

Re: THIEVES!

Yes, it would have been extremely rare to actually have alpha cards, there were literally only thousands of them. Your dual lands are still super valuable; they easily go for over 100 bucks a piece for decent condition. Go to a game shop on friday nights (game shops all have an event called Friday n...

Re: THIEVES!

Namosa is right, if you have any Alpha cards they are like gold. They are surprisingly rare because we didn't actually make that many of them. Magic is huge with those types of minds that like to collect things and I am always shocked at how much cards can go for. I don't actually play but interesti...

Yeah, hold onto those Verv, dual lands are super valuable. How long ago were you in high school because if those cards are from the early nineties then you don't want to be playing with them. Let's put it this way, there are couple cards that sold for 700k and 500k from that era. Dual lands are very...

Soren Markov is his name, he is a vampire planes walker from Innistrad. He created Avacyn, an Angel in that world to maintain the balance of vampires and humans. We are currently on the last set of the Innistrad block which is called Avacyn Restored, which is basically a bunch of angel cards that an...

Re: known cheats & dupes and how to fix them...

It sucks to be the non-duping player fighting against dupers. We've all been there at some point. In nearly all cases, though, SB players dupe like crazy when they are in possession of a dupe. I don't know of anyone that has discovered a dupe and who has refused to use it out of principle - those t...

Do you still feel like the game won't be worth playing if you can't cheat? It is sad to see someone claim that it was the cheaters who "made the game fun." Don't you suppose it was quite the opposite for the honest players? It sucks to be the non-duping player fighting against dupers. We've all bee...

Re: Your first shadowbane character

I made an Aelfborn warrior blade master in ma like 20 times and everytime I thought I could build it better I deleted her so that I could have the name Far the Spider over and over. I have no idea why that was my first character since I never played something like that again for the next six years.

Re: Best warrior char

If you want to make an aggrobot/pve Tank then a dwarf crusader is a good choice. You can get decent enough defense for mobs to miss enough to out health regen any damage. But, that is really their only purpose because they won't be doing any real damage. You could try to switch it up and make a dwar...

Re: Get rid of the waterbucket macro

I am curious because it is a fun exercise how exactly you would try to counter this tactic, but let us set up some real life ground rules: 1. The defenders are interested in keeping their city. They have a no fly and no teleport spire and they have been running all day. (if they were really interest...

Hmm maybe my memory is getting bad in old age but I thought that was what our defense was, maybe it was 2850? We used this group on the lore server (which is why bry made the mino dagger wielder and, too our surprise totally worked!). We rolled high dex, lucky elves. Applied 40 dex rune and wore 24 ...

Re: Seeking Suggestions for Small Group

This is a hard one to pull off but with a bit of a experience and a lot of good gear you can make it destroy and whittle down groups.  This group is going to need 4 people because it needs 2 and half damage dealers and one very good priest.  This group consists of 1 fury, 2 elven rangers and 1 dwarf...

I think a fun and very tough three man group to play would be a human rogue bard, either a human were rat scout and a dagger bird thief. If you had one more person for a fourth, then a shade or irekei wizard would always be welcome. If you wanted to go by pure style then you could make an aracoix ro...

I am not trying to call anyone out here but simply stating my opinion about a problem with water bucket heals that I have seen and experienced first hand. All I am asking is honestly test it; I am only here to promote my not so secret agenda of the health of shadowbane. That is a place where FTP (my...
