New as of January 5th

Patch 2.1

Taxes are now automatically added to a R8 realm's coffers on the front end. No more need for a tax collector. Taxes also apply to gold looted from mobs and sales made to/from vendors in the controlling realm (yes, even in NPC cities).

But the net points will replace the old costs, correct? Godly still has a requirement of 12 points, but you will get the difference back from the previous rune. The new stat rune replaces the old one in the runes menu, so those points should not be lost for good.

Well... it's kind of intended to be gimp in the conventional sense. But it has a spammable lightning damage nuke and lightning damage debuffs. Might be a nice combo with druids. It also has a sacrifice spell, so it can help get through mantles.

Assuming you have a later version of Windows:

Right-click the Shadowbane executable or shortcut and tab over to "Compatibility". There are some settings on that window that may be reducing your available color usage while Shadowbane is running.

The client's formula for mana regeneration seems to be different than what is actually happening on the server. This means that your displayed mana could be lower than it actually is. Changes to mana that are not a result of regeneration (drains) would cause an update to occur. I suspect this is why...

Are you sure it was 1k per turtle? Is that what is said in the system channel?

I suspect this could be related to server/client sync in regards to what is displayed in the mana bar.

OP how? at an open tree? That's all a thief has, really. You don't often see them at banes or mines. The game is not entirely based on banes and mines. Balancing classes solely based on their roles in those departments would be an error. This aint Guild Wars where you hit a button and pop into RvR....

FYI, staffs started receiving baked-in sorcery, warding, and int very late in the game to make the skill worth training. Baked-in enchantments currently require ID to see, which is a known bug

This mob is invisible because it has been placed inside the Orc war hall structure. That is where it is supposed to be but the collision detection/heightmaps/whatever aren't finished yet. I will re-place it outside next time I get a chance.

It is only good to 20. Did you perhaps use space bar when training sneak? Sometimes it displays the wrong number of trains if so. Relog and make sure you really do have GM sneak.

I have noticed this on many structures (mainly NPC structures). I believe this is due to errors in the collision detection system. It is the same reason we can not place NPCs in buildings yet.

I usually agree, shifty, but then I realized that doomsayers are always the first target. 100 may seem steep for just a few more points of physical resistance, but that's precious seconds you will need to wring their priest(s) dry.

Unidentified items still have their properties even before they are identified. I recall on live, when I was solo farming with no way to ID, I used to put on un ID'd rings to see if any of my stats changed. Shouldn't defense take the un ID's defense mods into account?

I had to use the "./inc" dev command though, which may or may not be working correctly. If not, the bridges will be on the ground but slightly offset. We'll see...

It doesn't matter if they did or didn't. The 2004 patch notes say WP intended these powers to check defense. There were no notes on subsequent patches indicating this change was undone.

Therefore we can reason that these powers bypassing defense was and still is a bug that WP & SBG did not fix.

Not denying that's how it worked on live. I actually believe it did bypass defense right to the last day. However, the only proof we have is the source in patch 3 saying that's how it should (and always should have) worked.

To be accurate, the Spirit buff is being applied server-side only. I verified this with the print stats command.

The problem is that the extra mana is not registering on the client and that it is the client's say whether or not a player has enough mana to use a spell.

IIRC, a failed steal would cause a mob to initiate attack, but a successful one did not. I don't recall how this worked on a player in combat stance, but I certainly do not recall a player auto-attacking on any steal attempt.

I have noticed this as well. The game does not seem to be registering the size modification caused by strength until an event which causes it to be checked (I.E. giving the character a STR buff). As a result the character will just pop up to their intended size after one of these events.

I agree that mobile aggro management seems off. It was never so easy to tear the entire camp off of your PLer on live. I suspect the coding might just be temporary since none of the mobs cast spells other than "call for help" right now.

This should just be a cosmetic bug. Use a ./printstats command both when you are and are not wearing the item to determine if you do indeed receive double bonuses.

I have not found any gear with double stats that actually register since the wipe.

Bug is already posted somewhere.

I expect all of you have the minimum skill trains required to equip the items. This is a result of rounding. The server sees the skill as 99.something, but the client rounds up.

Unidentified items still have their magical properties. Identifying them only makes the stats known. This is no bug.

Summon takes the mana if you attempt to summon a non-existant charactrer (or mispell the name). Is this how it should be?

On live, you could purposefully fizzle the spell by attempting to cast on non-group members. Terribly annoying.

There is no deathshroud requirement, you could use it as a percent heal in combat. It made it a worthy trade off for commander's stun break.

I beg to differ. Priests aren't so point-tight that they cannot afford GM root. Yes, root can be broken easily but being able to cast it again in 10 seconds makes it worth it. The recycle timer on root breaks is 30 seconds.
