I believe it when I see it, i've done the aelf healer version and elf mage version. Kally's version is good I guess if you don't mind getting dot'd to death.

ya... copying builds is pretty lame. making ur own is all the fun. bw seem to do well on def. the real decicion would be whether u want to go all dex/def or split dex and int even and do some draining, ur def will be lower though. You could also consider going staff or sheild...either way ur weapon powers will be low...i know staff and hammer are at 5 but im not sure about bw. regardless...it will never be what u hope it to be.

Actually since Doomie has no class 1h'r and would only profit from the shields defense, i'd argue to say that a staff healer's def would come out about the same using class staff instead of scepter/shield

I'm trying to build a human mage-based defsayer. (Just for the heck of it)

I've never done it before so here's my roll.

So far that's what I have set.

Now I've never built one before - so here's a couple of questions.

What kind of cloth gear should i equip?
Staff to which percentage?
Dex has to be raised as well i presume?
Discs?

I've probally already gimped to the high heavens but whatever :lol:

I don't remember what cloth had the highest defense. Wasn't it those Necromancer robes with the spiderweb looking pattern?

it is if you want a high def/mellee dmg doomy. otherwise your tossing out gimped casts as a nuke/def doomy. and if you are a pure melee doomy without a bw rune your going to generally suck ass against another toon with def and your dps wont be as good.

on a side note...i dont know where i got 120 def from shield from...0.o. maybe i was drunk? idk i cant remember my shield numbers right now. maybe i meant before def stance? but even so....

go healer elf melee high dex/con or make a caster doomy with no def. I have no faith in a mage doomies dps in def stance with high def. but let me know how that thing turns out 0.0, i still dont think you will get enough def w/ cloth to make it usefull especially in gvg where you cant blind more than one dude....because if you are mage cloth you will need both your debuffs and your blind just to stop one person from hitting you, and then after 30sec your getting hit garaunteed. you might be able to pull off 1500+ def on an int cloth doomy....idk. never tried int/def/cloth. I used to get 1700+ on my mage bard on live...but it was all dex/con/bow and a pure bane bard for sure. that bow sure smacked hard for a bot....maybe i need to roll that thing again. 0.0

Here is what results i get from Arkanis

no stance = 1951
d stance = 2304
o stance = 1672


I think Its a viable build, if anyone def/atr cuts you remove debuff,
Use the Health/Stam debuff to wear down scouts/meat
Mana drain and nuke mages
jump into def while blinding 1v1 and jump into off to cast health dots

eh might work

LA chest +8 def / +5 pierce
LA arms +8 def / +5 pierce
LA legs +8 def / +5 pierce
LA sleaves +8 def / +5 pierce
LA boots +8 def / windies
LA gloves +8 def / +10 Dex

Ring 10int/10Dex
Ring 10int/10Dex
Neck 10int/10dex

Scepter 150atr/corruption

Shield = Indomitable of Defense

I didn't even bother with a sword, the damage is crap and the atr is just as bad.
You could try to proc but.....you wont
