New to huntress class

Post by Tavik25 » Sun Apr 05, 2015 5:18 pm

Looking at rolling a huntress. Going human rogue, with TaN, HaaO, tough hide, and born of the Gwen(con) 155 con, 135 int, rest into dex. Golding storm calling and bow. 70 in archery and the rest of the basics. Possibly the snare nuke over lighting nuke. Will the stat layout be good or should I drop tough hide for a int bump?

You won't have enough points left to put in dex to make too much of a meaningful difference. You're better off spending those points in spirit. Stat spread looks okay besides that.
Regarding the nuke, ALWAYS take lightning first. You're granted a snare from your bow and the lightning nuke has a higher damage output.
There's no need to put anything but extras into the bow skill. Remember, your bow's ATR is figured from your focus line if you use a windbow. If you're using a warbow, you'll need the extra points. If not, refine bow down to 110% and use the extras to take archery to 95% for grounding shot.

Here's a sample template. You don't have to adhere strictly to it, I tried but couldn't recreate your stat spread without dropping tough hide. It netted you ~8 int.

-------The Basics---------

Race: Human
Class: Rogue
Profession: Huntress

------Applied Runes-------

Healthy as an Ox
Tough as Nails
Born of the Gwendannen
Legendary Constitution
Legendary Intelligence
Archer
Gladiator
Undead Hunter

----------Stats-----------

Strength: 35/100
Dexterity: 40/100
Constitution: 155/155
Intelligence: 135/135
Spirit: 66/100 (originally at 46, however humans get +20 stat points) If you had put the points into dex, you would have had 81,
which IMO isn't meaningful enough to warrant pumping dex vs pumping spirit for more mana)

----------Skills----------

Bow 110% (72 trains)
Dodge 146% (135 trains)
Wear Armor, Medium 100% (62 trains)
Way of the Gaana 136% (106 trains)
Archery 95% (57 trains)

----------Powers----------

Sneak 20 (Journeyman)
Stalk 40 (Grand Master)
Grace of the Panther 1 (Untrained)
Vashteera's Blessing 1 (Untrained)
Call the Sky's Fury 40 (Grand Master)
Phaedra's Fury 40 (Grand Master)
Amazon's Endurance 40 (Grand Master)
Precision 20 (Journeyman)
Consecrate Weapon 20 (Journeyman)
Resist Pain 1 (Untrained)
Call of the Crowd 1 (Untrained)

Feel free to rearrange the points to your liking. If you're going for a regen build, use jewels with +health regen. If not, use +int/con or +int/ganna or whatever. Experiment a bit and see what you like.

No problem, feel free to pick that build apart and edit it to your liking. Experiment with jewels too. I usually use 12int/10ganna rings and 12int/6all ammy. I also use a runed of genius (100mana/25mr/10int) hood.

Sorry for the piggyback & old thread revival.

I was curious if anyone had any template ideas for a Great Axe Huntress.

The reason behind this is I want a toon with stealth/track and the ability to use stun/pb/def cut weapon powers.

I built a ranger but they only get access to Axe which misses out on the Great Ax Def Cut.

-------The Basics---------

Race: Human
Class: Rogue
Profession: Huntress

------Applied Runes-------

Warlord's Page
Tough as Nails
Tough Hide
Healthy as an Ox
Constitution of the Gods
Black Mask
Gladiator

----------Stats-----------

Strength: 100/100
Dexterity: 35/95
Constitution: 160/160
Intelligence: 81/100
Spirit: 23/95

----------Skills----------

Dodge 41% (11 trains)
Wear Armor, Medium 132% (103 trains)
Way of the Gaana 96% (67 trains)
Axe 132% (103 trains)
Great Axe Mastery 132% (103 trains)

----------Powers----------

Hide 28 (Competent)
Sneak 40 (Grand Master)
Amazon's Endurance 40 (Grand Master)
Grace of the Panther 1 (Untrained)
Phaedra's Fury 40 (Grand Master)
Fury of Ice 40 (Grand Master)
Call the Sky's Fury 40 (Grand Master)
Resist Pain 20 (Journeyman)
Backstab 20 (Journeyman)

This dude knows what hes doin. Would use gana/int neck too though.

also whether u use wind bow or war bow makes a big difference. War bow is significantly more dps but a good bit less atr(meaning u have to compensate with glad atr buff or something to hit those super high def rogues.

You can make good fighte4 and rogue hunties...but now how u made it.

-First, U wont get any kind of def that resembles anything usefull. 1500ish i figure.
-take int to the 60's and put those points in str.
-take armor to 100 and Gm UR cat form rage.....
-use two one handed axes...better power levels and atr
-get a commander rune for dmg buff
-reduce your nukes to 1 point each and pump dodge high

Thats the main stuff you would need to do to make this viable.

I had a human fighter huntress axe and board with full pet trimmings and about 1850 def and 4.5khp that wasnt terrible.

i would reccomemd spear hg huntress with high int if you are going for stylebane, viability high def regen str weapon. U can get 4khp 2kdef on those mamajamas...and dps is nasty good.

Ps on that hg def regen build you focus on melee and procs and keep ur nukes trained low. Otherwise you wont have points for def.

Thanks!

Some awesome tips there.

I might build a HG one to see how it looks, but I really wanted the stealth & track but you are right in that the defense is awful on my rogue build.

Good stuff here. The only reason to ever take armor past 100% is for increased defense on defense toons. As shifty stated you're not gonna get good enough ATR/damage from your nukes to warrant more than one point.

Thank you for your feedback as well.

I saw in a previous thread they allowed Vampire Rogues to train into Huntress, is that still allowed?
