First off, I'm new to the forums, glad to be here. Played SB off and on during/after college and so glad to see it alive again.
Back in the day I had a vamp necro pre-drain nerf and I had a lot of fun with it. I thought I'd try necro again and considered human because I love extra train points, but after reviewing my race options I have a lot of trouble justifying the notion because it seems like it is lacking compared to vamp/shade/elf, namely that they all gain access to racial runes/powers that blow extra trains out of the water.
Delving further into the forums I noticed a brainstorming post on pets and how to make them viable. If something does change that makes pets a better investment, would this suddenly put humans in the mix for necro? Or, for that matter, for any class, since honestly it seems like extra train points, while nice, tend to lose out in the long run.
Am I missing something here? I admit that I'm not the most experienced player, so forgive any ignorance in this post.

Re: Human necros
There are a few toons/builds for which humans are the best possible race.
Actually, from the top of my head I can think of only one (human NS). But I`m sure there are a few more.
But necros aren`t one of them.
Basically, if you want to play a necro it is: Shade for solo, Vamp for GvG (though you can solo with a vamp almost as good as with a shade). Take note that necros, in general, are not the best solo toons.

Appreciate the reply. I'm not necessarily looking to build a solo toon, just speculating on a possibility.
Re: Human necros
Don't forget Templars too!
I know they aren't the choice now, I was more or less speculating that, if pet usefulness did increase, they might get more consideration for being able to buy the usual fun skills and tack on some pet skills as opposed to making cuts like other races would have to do.

Re: Human necros
Humans can be great for anything thats point tight.
Nightstalkers, Fessors, Templars, Rogue Huntress', Rogue Rangers, even assys, all make good humans. Those extra trains are extremely nice to have.
Vamps are more fun and cooler lookin tho

To the OP .
Humans don't just get the extra trains. They also get extra stat points because they have no creation cost. (That's 25 more than a vamp!) The balanced stat spread isn't bad either. Through the racial bloodline traits /(in game runes now?) you can spike one or two stat categories without having one or two lows like the other races. In the end they can almost match the highs of most other races.

Well for starters its supposed to take place in a prison and feature a human centipede of 500 people.
