Touch of Saint Wend or Aid to the Injured?

Post by NinetyL » Sun Sep 25, 2011 7:05 am

Which is more proficient? At first I thought Saint Wend was a no brainer, but then I noticed that Aid to the Injured has only 0.5 seconds longer casting time than blessed mending and is more than twice as powerful. Is the wiki correct? Or am I missing something?

St wend is better than than aid to the injured. I think they were high when they redesigned the prelate heals. Wouldn't it make sense for the slower one to have higher hp/s than the faster one? I'm going off the wiki too, but if the numbers are right someone at sbg was not trying.

Huh, that's true. If I'm not screwing up my calculations, Saint Wend has an average hps of 28,75 while Aid to the Injured is only 25 hps

That is correct, that was the idea of it tbh. It's more-so of "Do I want the heal applied quickly or in 1 heavy hit".

Common sense would have longer casting heals be more effecient, both in hps/s and mana/hps when chain casted. There is absolutely no reason to take a slower heal that is inferior to a faster one, which aid to the injured is however you look at it. Yet another case in the endless list of SBG slacking on the job.

The idea was to buff their healing without making it better than a priest, but I admit mana costs and hps was derp.

Touch of St. Wend is the better heal it's comparable to even tend the wounded.

But we liked it, cuz it felt oh so good! ...in the way that having a grotesque, bloody axe wound in your chest healed in the blink of an eye feels good, just to be clear... :D
