This launch will be the first time since live that guilds can innovate, bring new builds, specs and ideas to the table. It's the first time that we'll transcend scoutbane, templarbane, minobane.. and so on! The truly strong guilds will rise to the top with the creation of new spec groups, strategies and ideas. It's exciting just thinking about it!

Testing Period Results

We've learned a lot from this testing phase and we want to share with you some of those lessons, from our perspective. Not only have we taken your feedback about specific balance changes and worked on solutions based on that, but there are "bigger picture" lessons that we have learned and grown thanks to your feedback and comments over the course of the testing phase. Thank you all for getting involved, we know at times it was rocky. All we ask is that you give things a try and tell us how to improve!

Lessons have been learned, good and bad, and we just want to leave this topic with a final, genuine statement: no matter what goes wrong or right in our patches, launches or updates we will be here and we will work actively alongside the community. If things are unpopular or don't work out we have proven we will do what is right to rectify the situation. We ARE here actively listening to your feedback and we ARE actively working on that feedback. No matter what is said or done we will work alongside you all to put things right and grow as a community.

Recruiting Roundtable Members

If you want to get involved in the Roundtable, throw your name into the ring by posting in this thread: click here. We want active, passionate individuals that want to help shape future patches, updates and work with staff members on liaising with the community as well as highlight important issues within the community.

Recent reports of the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of the CRT can sometimes be confusing and unfair to the CRT, as veteran CRT members will attest to. Many of the recommendations from the CRT are put into place, and all of their feedback is acted on in some way. Here are just a few examples of their recent work:
  • The Noob Island system was worked on over the course of 6 months, with CRT feedback in Ventrilo, on the forums and in testing. The CRT voted on implementing this system and could have completely denied it if they wished.
  • The Outposts system has been designed in tandem with the CRT. We hope to expand on this to include Outpost benefits, etc. For now we are reviewing feedback on Outpost locations. The CRT voted on implementing this system and could have completely denied it if they wished.
  • R8 Bonuses were taken from CRT/ADV members and brainstorming sub-forum directly. The CRT voted on implementing this system and could have completely denied it if they wished.
  • Over 70% of our patch notes changed based on CRT feedback, with whole swathes removed and added during the CRT testing period. Between patches "CRT-1" and "CRT-11", all of which were created based on CRT feedback, the patch was completely transformed. Each of these 11 patches had between 10 and 20 updates to the original patch, driven by CRT testing and feedback.
  • The Pac-Rim system and leadership discussions were all held within the CRT. The CRT worked together to create compromises to allow the game to function for a global playerbase, while creating a pact within the Pac-Rim community for no more massive server wars based on Pac-Rim versus NA. We hope to announce more about our results in this area soon!
We want YOU to get involved and have the same impact on results like above! Throw your name in the thread here: click here if you're interested in joining, or nominate a friend you think would be a good fit!

Play to Crush

The road to launch is a two week journey starting now that we'll be taking with you. We'll be putting out a final patch note for you to browse, we'll be talking about the "zerg" situation, launching an info-graphic and some videos, maps of the game world with discipline droppers, trainers and mine types noted for your server up plans.

The testing period has been a long one, and we're ready to let you all Play to Crush once more. This upcoming phase will put innovation and creative minds to good use and we can't wait to see what will be done with new ideas. No more cookie cutter Aracoix Scouts or Deflar builds running amok! One hell of an exciting time is coming to Dalgoth!

Remember! - 1.5 Launches on Saturday the 7th of March, and remember to Play to Crush!

Gameplay & Base Class Updates
General
  • 5% of all gold looted now goes directly to your guild's warehouse. This will be referred to as the Guild Tax in the future.
  • Root powers have been readjusted to 1.5 to 0.2s cast time, a duration of 20s to 40s and a cooldown of 20 seconds between power ranks 0 and 40.
  • Personal Damage Absorber powers now absorb 1,000 damage, up from 750.
  • Damage buffs have been rescaled to 10+0.75 of power rank. JM damage buffs will all be +20% damage, GM damage buffs will all be +40% damage. The exception to this is the Knight Damage buff, Strike True, which will still JM at +30%.
  • Travel Stance's movement speed component has been increased to 60% (from 50%).
  • Water Bucket's healing effect has been changed to a % Heal over Time. It has a duration of 1 minute and an interval of 10 seconds. This means that it longer scales off of Int, Spirit or Power Damage.
  • Water Bucket use will now dispel Demolishing Spell.
  • Single Target Resistance Buffs now stack with other resist power types (Group & Chants but NOT other Single Targets).
  • Single Target Resistance Buff cast times and durations normalized. Their cast times are now 2 seconds (from 3-4s) and a duration of 60 seconds (from 900s).
  • Group Resistance Buffs now stack with other resist power types (Single Target & Chants but NOT other Group buffs).
  • Group Resistance Buffs train cap at PR-1 and grant +25 Resistance.
  • Group Resistance Buff cast times and durations normalized. Their cast times are now 1 second (from 3-5s) and a duration of 180 seconds (from 900+s)
  • Area of Effect powers will be moving away from their classic ruleset. Rather than "Group Friendly" or "Excludes Caster", Area of Effect powers will be changed to support the "Ignores 10 Allies" mechanic. This means that when an AoE power selects targets, X allies caught within its radius will be omitted regardless of to whose group they belong. An ally is a Nation Member.
  • Area of Effect powers with effect radii between 28 and 32 have been normalized to 40 units. Ex: Call Lightning (formerly 32) now has an equivalent radius to Hedge of Thorns (40).
  • Area of Effect powers now hit up to 60 player targets (from 7). The first 5 players hit by an AoE will take 100% damage and the remaining 55 targets will take 50% damage. This will show as 2 damage entries to the first 5, and one damage entry to the rest. Effects such as DoTs or Debuffs will apply evenly to all targets.
  • The functionality of Prelate's Saint Lorne's Ire, Necromancer's Unholy Storm, Channeler's Call Lightning has changed significantly. These 4 powers now hit up to 60 targets within their radii, excluding the caster for up to 100% damage. Targets near the center of the area take 100% damage while targets near the edges of the radius take 50% damage.
  • Exclusions and traits of specific AoE powers:
  • Channeler
  • Call Lightning - Maximum Targets: 60 (Tapering)

    Fury
  • Call the Blizzard - Maximum Targets: 10 (Unmitigated)
  • Call Storm - Maximum Targets: 10 (Unmitigated)

    Necromancer
  • Unholy Storm - Maximum Targets: 60 (Tapering)

    Prelate
  • Saint Lorne's Ire - Maximum Targets: 60 (Tapering)

    Sentinel
  • Divine Word of Binding - Maximum Targets: 60 (Unmitigated)

    Warlock
  • Needs of the One - Maximum Targets: 60 (Unmitigated)
    Healer
    • The Restoration skill is now modified 100% by Spirit rather than 60% Int 40% Spirit. This will help differentiate support and damage builds. We expect the heal output of Intelligence heavy Healers to be reduced by around 15%.
    • Blessed Mending's mana cost has been increased to 30-50 between power ranks 0 and 40 (from 10-26).
    • Blessed Healing has been rescaled. It now train caps at PR-40 rather than PR-20. The new PR-20 will be less powerful than the current PR-20, while the new GM will be more powerful than the current PR-20.
    • Blessed Healing's mana cost has been increased to 65-110 (from 18-50) between powers ranks 1-40 and its cooldown has increased to 10 seconds.
    • Contagion may now be cast on players. Its visual effects have changed from fire to disease particles. Contagion now caps at PR-20 but retains its PR-40 effectiveness.
    • Contagion's direct damage component is doubled, its cast time was reduced to 1.5 seconds (from 2) and its cooldown has increased to 8 seconds (from 0).
    Rogue
    • Hide has been removed.
    • Post-Stealth powerblocks now last 3s, up from 1.5s.
    • Sneak now train caps at PR-20 down from PR-40.
    • Sneak's stamina cost has been reduced to 0 and its cast time increased to 3 seconds. Its duration has been reduced to 300s. Sneak movement penalty has been increased from 10% to 30%.
    • Shades may move while using their racial invisibility power as a side effect.
    • Stalk, a new Invisibility, Detect Hidden and Movement speed buff power has been added to Rogues.
    • Stalk has a Stamina cost of 100, a cast time of 0.2 seconds, a duration of 30 seconds and a cooldown of 300 seconds.
    • Stalk may be trained to PR-40 and requires 18 points in Sneak. The movement speed component of this power is linked with its invisibility. The Detect Hidden component of this power has a duration of 15 seconds.
    • Backstab Poisons have had their range increased from 0 to 15. This is ultimately a usability fix and should help players that often have difficulties with character sync.
    • Blackmask Poisons have had their Stamina cost increased to 50 (from 20) and their cooldowns increased to 180s (from 30s).
    • Backstab Poisons have been reworked. They now deal 3% Health/Mana/Stamina Damage every 2 seconds (up from every 4/5 seconds), but now only last for 10s (down from 30 (Blackmask)) and 20s (from 60 (Thief & Assassin)). The result is more front loaded damage, but less harrassment/shutting down of stealthers and using it mid combat is more costly, especially as a follow up from Stalk (100 Stamina) to Backstab (50 Stamina).
    • Buchinine Poison now also applies a Ground to its target for 45 Seconds (Blackmask) and 90 Seconds (Assassin & Thief).
    • The Running skill is no longer modified by any attributes. It was formerly modified by Intelligence, Dexterity and Constitution.

  • Melody, Rede & Song chants now train cap at PR-20.
  • All Bard chants now have a duration of 60s and a recast of 30s.
  • Chants of the same type can no longer stack (Ex: a Rede will not stack with another Rede, a Song will not stack with another Song, etc.).
